  • The ambassador should be prepared to give a short presentation about current student life at K-State at any time during their tenure. Ambassadors are encouraged to work together to compile a short outline that either Ambassador can use individually or that they can use for a presentation together.

EVENT ATTENDANCE

The Alumni Association shall act as the clearinghouse when requests for appearances are made specifically to the Ambassadors, with the exception of the President's Office.  This is strictly to protect the Ambassadors from requests that they may be unable to fulfill.  All requests should be directed to the advisor.

Some events are scheduled during the summer months and Ambassadors are strongly encouraged to be present for these events. The Ambassadors should feel free to turn down any events requesting their attendance if there are conflicts because of academic reasons, upon consulting the advisor.

The Ambassadors will meet periodically with the advisor to coordinate the event calendar. Because the events the ambassadors will attend vary in location and purpose, the advisor will give guidance on dress. The Ambassadors are expected to be punctual for all event departures and/or listed event times.

SELECTION PROCESS
The Student Ambassador selection process consists of the following:

  • Application review
  • Interview with a student panel
  • Interview with a faculty/staff panel, where each candidate is asked to give a 2-4 minute presentation on the Homecoming theme
  • Voting by the Student Body during Homecoming Week
  • Announcement of the Ambassadors at halftime of the K-State Homecoming football game

The candidate pool will be gradually reduced following each step in the process.
