Charlie Morrison retired in October 2024 as CEO of mission-driven Salad and Go, a
fast-growing restaurant chain focused on making fresh, nutritious food affordable
and convenient for all. During his four-year tenure as board member and later as CEO,
Salad and Go grew from 20 to 150 stores and developed the foundation for the chain’s
long-term sustainable growth.
Previously, Morrison served as chairman and CEO of Wingstop, where he was responsible
for leading the strategic direction of the company and its global operations over
10 years of service.
In June of 2015, Morrison led Wingstop in the completion of its initial public offering,
listing the company under the NASDAQ ticker symbol WING. The Wingstop IPO is well
regarded as the most successful in the history of the restaurant industry.
Morrison is an industry veteran with 35 years of experience with various companies
including Pizza Hut, Steak and Ale Restaurants, Kinko’s, Pie Five Pizza Company and
Boston Market.
Morrison is a recipient of many distinguished restaurant industry awards, including
the 2015 Golden Chain Award and the 2016 Silver Plate Award.
Morrison earned a bachelor’s degree in management in 1990. He serves on the KSU Foundation
Board of Trustees and chaired the Dean’s Advisory Board for the College of Business
Administration. He also serves as board chair emeritus of Cristo Rey Fort Worth College
Prep, a high school focused on providing under-resourced youth in the community an
opportunity to achieve a private, college preparatory education.
Morrison and his wife of 35 years, Debbie, reside in Southlake, Texas.
