2025 Alumni Fellows
As principal and director of Multistudio's City Design Studio, Graham Smith, Leawood,
Kansas, guides communities and clients through urban design and policy development.
He views planning through an urban lens, understanding how public spaces and private
development must work in harmony to create vibrant places. Smith delivers actionable,
forward-thinking guidance through his work on community, neighborhood, corridor and
special project plans, as well as design guidelines and regulations.
Much of his work centers on urban infill and redevelopment strategies that put people
first, breathing new life into existing spaces. He excels at bringing people together,
building trust and consensus through community engagement to create lasting impact.
Smith believes strongly that stakeholder involvement drives successful planning initiatives
– from initial vision through implementation.
Drawing on his extensive experience in both public and private sector planning, Smith
brings a distinctive perspective to each project, ensuring solutions that are both
innovative and practical.
Smith earned two degrees from K-State: a bachelor’s degree in geography in 1993 and
