Throughout my career, K-State’s emphasis on practical problem-solving and leadership
has been invaluable. In my roles leading global teams, from commodities trading to
reviving and scaling startups in the ag tech space, I often draw upon the collaborative
mindset and strategic thinking skills developed at K-State. These qualities helped
me thrive in diverse environments, from entrepreneurial ventures to multinational
corporations.
One of the most critical lessons I took from my time at K-State was the importance
of human capital and developing teams to their fullest potential. My career has always
been centered around helping individuals and organizations reach their highest potential,
and K-State’s focus on leadership development — both inside and outside the classroom
— was an excellent preparation for this.
Finally, the ongoing relationships I’ve built with other alumni and faculty have been
invaluable. As an advisory council member of K-State’s Risk Management Center and
a trustee on the KSU Foundation Board of Trustees, I continue to support and learn
from the university’s thriving network of professionals. Whether through mentorship
or strategic guidance, K-State remains an essential part of my career journey.
In short, K-State didn’t just prepare me academically — it provided the tools, the
network and the mindset to excel in a wide range of industries. I’m proud to be a
product of such an outstanding institution, and I continue to carry its principles
of innovation, community and leadership into everything I do.
