Winter wonders of Wildcat Land
On Jan. 4, 2025, Manhattan, Kansas, received nearly 18 inches of snow. Campus was closed the following Monday and Tuesday. That didn’t stop K-Stater editor Tim Schrag ’12 from trekking onto campus to get some photos of the blizzard on January 5 and 6.
Oh what a difference a day can make. These images were taken just a day apart.
Snow got stuck in the eyes of the Wildcat Statue on the Johnson Terrace at the K-State Alumni Center, giving it an almost life-like quality.
There’s always time to take another picture. I enjoyed the look of these clocks in Bosco Student Plaza and Coffman Commons.
The K-State Student Union covered in lacy-white snow.
This bench near Anderson Hall caught my eye.

This honey locust tree is the oldest tree on campus. Planted before K-State purchased the property, it’s more than 150 years old. Just think about the number of snowfalls it has weathered.
