Homecoming Committee donates to the Cats’ Cupboard
The K-State Student Homecoming Committee has donated $8,000 to Cats’ Cupboard: the
K-State Food Pantry. The funds were raised from proceeds collected at the 2024 K-State
Homecoming Philanthropy 5K Run/Walk.
Each year the Homecoming Committee identifies a beneficiary for the 5K proceeds. The
Homecoming 5K is sponsored by WTC Communications.
The Cats' Cupboard Initiative is a collaborative effort among students, faculty, staff and community focused on
promoting food security at K-State. It provides direct food access through an on-campus
food pantry, in addition to education and engagement opportunities. Cats' Cupboard
is accessible to all K-State students and employees.
A check for the proceeds was formally presented by Adam Walker, Alumni Association
president and CEO, to Shelly Williams, Morrison Family Director of Cats' Cupboard,
and Karra James, back of house specialist at Cats' Cupboard, at the K-State women’s basketball game on Feb. 22.
K-State has celebrated Homecoming for more than 100 years. The 2025 Homecoming Celebration
will be the week of Oct. 5-11, 2025, kicking off the week with the 5K Run/Walk. Stay
