Big 12 Road Trip: A look at Cincinnati
Editor’s note: We asked K-Staters with ties to the incoming Big 12 schools to give
us some recommendations for Wildcats who plan to visit these places. Pat Hudgins ’11
recently retired from K-State as the associate director of the Career Center. She
earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1980.
Basketball was winning a lot when I was in school. We had many concerts on campus
and within the community. There are lots of churches to visit when in the area. There
is an awesome hospital connected to the university. The campus is located on a hill
surrounded by the growing city. There are many neighborhoods to experience.
What to eat: You must try Skyline Chili, it comes three-way, four-way and five-way
(the more ingredients you add), LaRosa Pizzeria, and Just Q’in BBQ (has awesome brisket),
Montgomery Inn also has good BBQ, and Graeter’s Ice Cream you have to try.
Places to visit: Krohn Conservatory in Eden Park, beauty and the arts, the Serpentine
Wall (on the river front), Music Walk of Fame, Underground Railroad Freedom Center,
Music Hall Fountain Square, Over The Rhine area for drinks and fun ambiance.
