2022 Alumni Excellence Award postponed to 2023
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Kanayo F. Nwanze, Ph.D. ’73, ’75 is unable to attend the Alumni Excellence Award celebration scheduled for Nov 4, 2022. The K-State Alumni Association has decided to postpone the presentation of the award until 2023.
“Dr. Nwanze’s attendance in person will give students on campus an excellent opportunity to interact with a global leader in food security,” said Michelle Elkins ’87, associate director of awards and special events. “We look forward to celebrating with him in 2023.”
Nwanze has over 40 years of experience across three continents in poverty reduction through agriculture, rural development, and research. He also introduced and promoted a new rice for Africa which is a high-yield, drought and pest-resistant variety developed specifically for the African landscape. He has dedicated his work to improve the lives for small holder farmers.
The rescheduled celebration and award presentation will be announced at a later date.
