Graphic Designer

At the K-State Alumni Association, we’re looking for a graphic designer to elevate our look-and-feel for the K-Stater magazine. If you have a love for all things design, plus don’t mind the color purple, and are collaborative by nature — you might be the person we’ve been looking for. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a self-starter with excellent design and organizational skills. Our new Graphic Designer must have the ability to pay close attention to detail and prioritize duties. Strong knowledge of design, typography, image manipulation, layout and illustration and the tools are necessary for this level of creativity.

Flexible working arrangements are an option.

 Required Skills: 

  • Exceptional concept, design and typography skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, while ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Works well collaboratively, as well as independently. 
  • Understands the value of a critique, and knows when to defend design concepts.
  • Expertise in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects.
  • Familiarity with higher education is a plus.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in visual communications design, graphic design or related field.
  • Two to four years of experience in design or publishing profession. 
  • Experience preparing files for production.
  • Experience working in an in-house marketing/design department a plus.
